ABOUT
Hope Transforms Futures.
At CityHope Center, we believe hope has the power to bring healing and transform lives — one child, one person, one family at a time.
We know life is hard. Every day, we see families who face brokenness, pain, and hopelessness — but no one is beyond hope. Whether you’re struggling with loss, addiction, housing instability, financial hardship, relationship challenges, or you simply feel stuck, CityHope Center is a non-profit organization where healing begins, futures are changed, and hope is restored.
WHAT WE DO
Our work is focused on supporting families in our community by:
-
Providing practical support to people facing hardship.
-
Offering emotional, spiritual, and relational encouragement.
-
Building relationships with others as we walk alongside them toward a brighter future
Through faith, hope, and love, we are committed to helping people experience real and lasting transformation. We believe that when one person in our community finds hope, it creates a ripple effect that lasts for generations to come.
WHY WE DO IT
At CityHope Center, we’ve seen firsthand how hope transforms futures. Our mission is to meet people in their hardest, darkest moments and remind them they are not alone. Everyone deserves a chance to heal, rebuild, and hope — and we are here to help.
No matter who you are, where you come from, or what has happened in the past, know that you are welcome here. Broken, hurting, lost, or hopeless — you belong and you matter.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” — Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)
We are a community that believes hope changes everything, and we are committed to walking with you every step of the way.
Together, we can transform futures — one child, one person, one family at a time.
OUR STORY

CityHope represents a 20-year dream in the making.
Jamie Horne - affectionately known by many as Miss Jamie - was rescued by the love of Christ in 1996 during her senior year of high school. Her life was transformed, and shortly after, she began working with a church plant in Cleveland, Ohio—serving through street ministry, children’s outreach, and pastoring young hearts.
In 1999, Jamie married Pastor Russ Horne, graduated with her degree in elementary education, and helped plant Sharpsburg Family Worship Center. Together, they began with a simple but powerful mission: to bring hope and transformation to their community. For over two decades, Jamie has poured her heart into the lives of children and youth in Sharpsburg, building relationships and sowing seeds of faith, love, and purpose.
Jamie and Russ have six children—four biological and two adopted—and recently welcomed their first grandchild! In 2024, Jamie became a licensed minister with the Assemblies of God. She currently serves as an elementary math teacher and chaplain at Eden Christian Academy, while continuing to lead and mentor at Sharpsburg Family Worship Center, raising up the next generation for the Kingdom of God.
Now, a long-held dream is becoming reality. City Hope is the fulfillment of a 20-year vision—a Hope Center rooted in Sharpsburg, created to reach families and future generations with the life-changing hope of Jesus Christ. What began as a calling has grown into a movement, and the story is just beginning. Jamie is trusting God for the next chapter in this journey of hope!
